ARTIST STATEMENT
I am an American Artist. My name is Susan Johns. My art background is lifelong, I do not remember a time in my life when I was not drawing and painting. I have been painting animal portraits for more than 30 years, I pay particular attention to detail and am therefore my hardest critic. I personally guarentee your satisfaction and specialize in memorial work.
 My art has been featured on the cover of magazines and sold in galleries and museums.
 I sincerely believe our pets are our most precious friends and treasures and our animals simply give us back something people can't.
I appreciate an opportunity to create heirloom quality, original art on canvas, just for you, to honor your, very special animals.
HOW IT WORKS
I want to welcome and thank you for your time and interest in my art. 
Please feel free to email or call me to casually discuss your questions and ideas.
1) First,choose your art size, and select a frame style
art size= 11" x 14"  or  24" x 30"    frame selection= honey wood or gold leaf (or art only no frame)
 2) Order your custom original painting at the store location of your choosing. This is where you will pay for and from which you will receive your finished original custom hand painted art .(contact me and I will help you locate a store that suits you.)
 3) You contact me directly to design the image detail of your custom painting. I understand if you only have a not so great photo.  
I am a true classical artist, and do not need the perfect photograph to create your custom painting. I will draw reference from any photographs you have (will be returned unharmed or send me photocopies or you can send them  via email  ).
 If possible, an assortment of miscellaneous snapshots are best ,to help me capture the spirt and essence of your subject.
~nice pose or head set, true color (sunlight offers best),clear close up of the eyes
~ any that express the inner personality (the subject at play or rest with loved ones)
~landscape detail such as a barn, porch  or any special background you may wish to be represented. 
When I receive your photos and contact information I will call you and we will discuss the details of the art, and confirm scheduling dates.
From start to completion takes about a month, my booking calender does fill up and quality art takes time, if you have a,' must have delivery day date', please order early!
At the time of completion I will send you a photocopy proof of the finished painting,( will tweak the painting at this time if needed, and mail you a revised proof. When you approve, I will , ship your completed Original Artwork through the location of the store where you ordered your original art.
